Show underlines growing Polish interest in Norwegian environmental technology

Norwegian companies promoted themselves heavily at Poleko 2009, Central and Eastern Europe\u2019s biggest trade show for environmental technology, which takes place annually in the Polish city of Poznan. Visitors and other exhibitors showed particular interest in Norwegian know-how, technology and solutions for waste management and recycling and water treatment.<\/strong><\/p>

Ten member businesses took part in this year\u2019s Poleko alongside Green Business Norway. A number of seminars and events were organized jointly with Innovation Norway Poland to promote member businesses and other Norwegian green technology providers.
We\u2019re noticing a lasting and increasing interest in the know-how, technology and solutions that our member businesses offer in the Polish market. This is our third time at Poleko. The contacts we have made and cultivated are more substantive and relevant than ever<\/em>, said Anne Lise Gjestvang, special adviser at Green Business Norway.<\/p> <\/div><\/div>

Big turnout at Poleko seminars<\/strong>
Over 200 Polish representatives attended the seminars organized jointly by Green Business Norway and Innovation Norway Poland. We\u2019ve taken part in Poleko for several years running, and we\u2019re now noticing that the Polish market is much more favourably disposed to our solutions for bioenergy production and biowaste recycling than in the past<\/em>, said Harald Kleiven, business development manager at Cambi AS www.cambi.no<\/a><\/p> <\/div><\/div>

Norwegian pavilion wins Acanthus Aureus best stand award<\/strong>
The Norwegian stand was chosen by the show organizers as the most market-oriented, with the clearest message of all the Poleko exhibitors. As a result, Innovation Norway Poland received the Acanthus Aureus award for its work in designing, developing and running Norway\u2019s pavilion at Poleko.<\/p>

Polish environmental infrastructure urgently needs upgrading<\/strong>
Poland faces big challenges and opportunities in meeting its own and the EU\u2019s objectives for water treatment, waste management, energy efficiency and renewable energy. There are great opportunities here for Norwegian suppliers. Poland is making progress with environmental and energy technology in several sectors. In the near future, we expect the market opportunities to become more tangible and substantive, and the orders more winnable. We mustn\u2019t forget that Norwegian technology has a good reputation in the Polish market<\/em>, said Anna Larsson, Green Business Norway\u2019s Marketing Director in Poland.<\/p>
