Norwegian technology attracting great interest in Poland

Norwegian technology attracting great interest in Poland
05. June 2009

The Polish market is showing great interest in water and waste management technology, expertise and solutions from Norway. This was our interim conclusion following the visit by Polish waste management executives on 18–19 May and our attendance at the Wod-Kan trade fair on 26–29 May.

Forum Dyrektorow
On 18–19 May, Green Business Norway organized a technical site visit in Norway for 50 senior executives of Polish waste management companies. The visit presented a selection of GBN member businesses’ know-how, technology and solutions in practice. Featured technology included composting and waste separation systems from Tomra Systems and Lindum Ressurs og Gjenvinning, and biogas technology from Cambi and Biotek.
The program included site visits to the Lindum Ressurs og Gjenvinning plant in Drammen and the Mjøsanlegget plant of GLØR IKS, a joint municipal waste management company. The Lillehammer site handles wet organic waste from some 75,000 households in the Mjøs region.

Wod-Kan
On 26–28 May, Green Business Norway took part in Wod-Kan, the Polish Fair for Water, Waste Water and Sewage Technologies, in Bydgoszcz, along with member businesses Aquateam, Cambi and Septik 24.
In association with IGWP (the Economic Chamber for Polish Waterworks), GBN organized a seminar on sludge management solutions and examples of best practice.
The seminar was attended by 94 Polish experts in sludge management. The Polish environment ministry was represented by Bernard Blaszczyk, under-secretary of state.
